The Notts County Golf Society has been formed to offer all people that are supporters of Notts County Football Club an opportunity to gather on a monthly basis to play a round of social golf with an element of competition.

Membership is open to all adult, junior, male or female, handicaps will be issued in accordance with society rules.

There is an annual subscription of £20.00 per person, this is for the upkeep of trophies, web site and the Handicapmaster system etc.

Each season we play 8 qualifying games, these games are for the 1862 trophy, the 1st game is in March with the last game in October. Qualifying matches will be played either on a SUNDAY, earliest Tee-Time possible or on a FRIDAY, which we will Tee-Off late in the afternoon, although tee-off times vary to allow for daylight conditions throughout the season. We play at 8 different golf courses/venues throughout the season, courses/venues are varied throughout Nottingham, Derby, Lincoln & Leics.

These games are played in Stableford format, full handicap allowance, out of the 8 games over the season the best 5 scores will count. Points are then awarded to form a table based on your finishing position for each match.

The player with highest number of points from their best 5 returns will be deemed as the 1862 Champion for that season.

All scores and handicapping are done through the online Handicapmaster system, of which members can log in and view at anytime.

On match days players should be there 45 minutes before advertised 1st tee off time.

The playing order will be made pre match by Tony Cottee.

Meals are sometimes included in the price, either before the game, after the game or both, These details are in the fixture list.

The price for the day is the price that the society is charged.

If we play at a members own course, he/she will be able to ask the course if it is possible to play with the society at no cost, this will need to be pre agreed prior to the day of play.

At each game we will run a cash prize table (£5.00 per person, this is optional, you have to be in it to win it), 4 cash prizes, winner, 2nd, 3rd & nearest the pin, nearest the pin will always be the highest stroke index par 3 hole on the course played and must be on the green to count,

In addition there will be a prize for the best front 9 and the best back 9 scores, donated by the society, these 2 prizes cannot be won by placed winners.

A singles competition will be played each season, THE Notts County SINGLES SHIELD this will played by match play rules with full handicap allowance, which is the handicap you are holding at the time of each round, this competition is now £10 to enter

To qualify to play in the singles competition from 2026 then a minimum of 3 1862 games will need to be played the previous season.

The draw will be made about 4 weeks before the 1st round. Between each round there will be a 4/5/6 week interval to play the games.

In order to conclude the competition, dates for each round must be strictly adhered to.

Venues are picked by the home drawn player and costs will be shared.

The final shall be well before the AGM so as to give plenty of time for the engaving to be done.

No singles games are permitted to be played on society qualifying days.

Those members that are on the "overnighter" can be accommodated to play a singles match at this venue, due to this being a non qualified 2 day event.
